New Leaf Editions
In 1983, Peter Braune came to Vancouver to take the Master Printer program at Emily Carr College of Art and Design. While looking for the school he found a small print shop, and thought it was a perfect location for a print studio. Peter eventually took over the shop, named it New Leaf Editions, and transformed it into a collaborative print studio.
Peter works with artists by preparing copper plates or woodblocks for them to draw on. These plates get etched or cut and then proofed until the artist is satisfied with the image. Next, a limited number of prints are pulled and signed by the artist.
Peter works with a variety of artists and designers. New Leaf specializes in etching, linocut, woodcut relief print and letterpress, however, over the years the shop has accepted many interesting challenges in a variety of media, including architectural commissions.
