Kites & Puppets
On a windy day twenty-five years ago, Sally Fontana decided to open a kite shop at the newly created Kids Market. Granville Island was within ferrying distance of kite-flying haven Vanier Park, and Sally loved the idea of heading to work and grocery shopping by boat.
Kites and Puppets is still a thriving business today due to their incredible variety of products, helpful staff and friendly atmosphere. There is something for every level of kite flier, from easy to fly single line kites to dynamic ‘stunt’ kites, as well as toys for those windless days such as Frisbees, golf discs, gliders, and bubbles. Visitors will also marvel at the extensive puppet collection. Everyone is encouraged to try out the animal puppets, people hand puppets, finger puppets, marionettes and puppet theatres.
