Kroma Artist’s Acrylics
As a teenager in the 1980’s Kevin used to hang out on Granville Island during its transformation from an industrial space to a haven for artists and craftspeople. He was drawn to the workshop of Gordon Payne — a painter who was also a paint-maker. While studying at Emily Carr College of Art, Kevin stayed on and ever since has been immersed in the world of artists’ colors. Each stage of the process, from formulation, to milling pigment, to packaging and selling finished paint takes place at the workshop.
Each color is made with care, by hand in small batches. Surrounded and supported by a community of artists, the workshop is directly connected to the people that use the paint - and to the pleasure that the colors provide.
