Jeanne Krabbendam

at the Salt Water Studio

The artist Jeanne Krabbendam works as a mixed media painter at the Salt Water Studio. Right after immigration from The Netherlands, she knew that Granville Island was the place where she wanted to work.

With both her part time employment and her art studio on the Island, it is an excellent place to be! At the Salt Water Studio one can open the window and hear the street performers. Jeanne’s clients love to visit her studio to see what new art she has been producing, attend a workshop, or to take a private class. Jeanne was trained in the European art tradition, both in France and Holland. She uses anything she can find to incorporate in her art work and now works in mixed media, layering and building her surfaces. This has become the artist’s specialty and is also what she teaches at Emily Carr University, here on the Island.
