Carolyn Kramer Artist
Carolyn Kramer paints, draws and genuinely enjoys the moments she creates art. The things she loves most about her Granville Island studio setting include listening to the strains of street music drifting through her studio windows, yummy market lunches and the tutu dressed street entertainer wiggling out of his chains. Best: hopping a ferry home.
As a multi-media artist, she employs encaustic, oil and acrylic paints. Carolyn has all the fancy brushes, but treasures her cheap hardware brushes and string. Her mother was an art teacher, her grandfather a muralist; there was no question she would be an artist. Carolyn has taught high school art in Boston and Delaware. After arriving in Vancouver, she became one of Arts Umbrella’s five founders. Carolyn was Painting and Drawing Department Head and taught there for 15 years. She returned for graduate study at Otis College of Art in LA and now lives between both cities.
