How to Live in Granville Island: Your Essential Guide

Granville Island

Granville Island is a small peninsula that's part of the City of Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada.

It was originally an industrial area for logging and other industries but has been redeveloped into a lively commercial center. There are many things to do in Granville Island, which can be hard to figure out if you’re new to the area. This blog post will provide you with everything you need to know about living on Granville Island!

What is Granville Island?

Granville Island is an island in the heart of Vancouver, BC. It has several shops and restaurants that sell its products directly to customers at affordable prices or through retail stores such as art galleries selling locally made works. The market also hosts special events throughout the year, including concerts and festivals for people to enjoy!

The island located in downtown Vancouver offers many shopping options where visitors can buy handmade goods from local artists who work on-site with materials found nearby and entertainment like live music during certain times of the year while offering delicious food options around every corner within its artisan cafes & eateries. Still, it’s not just about having fun – each purchase contributes back to this vibrant community by supporting small businesses, encouraging kids, young adults, families & seniors alike.

How to get there

Getting to Granville Island is easy. Take the SkyTrain from Waterfront Station and get off at Broadway-City Hall station.

Getting to Granville island can be difficult if one does not know how they should go about it. One must take a Skytrain that runs through Vancouver’s downtown area, where all major attractions such as Canada exist before arriving at the water ferry terminal. After getting off there, walk towards westbound direction for two blocks then turn left onto seawall drive until reaching Granville street intersection.

What are the best things to do on Granville Island?

There are so many fun things to do on Granville Island! One of the best is visiting the Public Market. You can buy fresh seafood, locally made ice cream, or baked goods and take them all home for dinner with your family. There’s also a great view from Canada Place that you should check out if it isn’t too cloudy outside- maybe after one of those delicious treats?

What are some great activities I could partake in a while exploring Granville Island? The public market has lots of food stalls where you can purchase different types of local produce like fruits and vegetables and meat products such as eggs, fish, etc. Great desserts like donuts (and other fried goodies), muffins/bread/cookies will make everyone happy, and there is also a fresh seafood section where you can get the best oysters, mussels, or salmon.

If you love hitting the greens, you’ll enjoy golfing in Granville. Suppose you relocated to the island with your partner, you can bring them to the course. There are golf clubs for both men and women; however, if you’re going with a female, make sure she comes with clubs made specifically for women. These clubs are the perfect equipment for avid and advanced players.

Places to eat and drink on Granville Island

There are many great places to get food while you’re exploring the island! One of my family’s favorite spots is Mamie Taylor’s, which has a delicious mix of southern barbecue and Jamaican fare. They also have delicious drinks for everyone- both alcoholic or not, depending on you and your family’s preferences. There are many more places to get food. If you’re craving something particular or have some dietary restrictions, I would recommend doing a quick Google search for the most popular and well-reviewed restaurants on Granville Island before heading out there!

What types of housing can I rent?

There are lots of public housing that is available for renters. There are also privately-owned condos and estates that you can rent, but they tend to be much more expensive than public housing options in the area. However, if you don’t want to worry about finding a place to live, I recommend checking out Craigslist or Kijiji, as those websites usually have listings of sites for people who need homes.
